BIBLICAL BASES:
Matthew 25:35-45For I was hungry, and you gave me food; I was thirsty, and you gave me drink; I was a stranger, and you took me in; I was naked, and you covered me; sick, and you visited me; in prison, and you came to me. Then the righteous will answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and take you in, or naked and cover you? Or when we saw you sick, or in prison, and came to you? And the King will answer and say to them: Truly I say to you, in as much as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.
Then he will also say to those on the left: Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. Because I was hungry, and you did not give me food; I was thirsty, and you gave me nothing to drink; I was a stranger, and you did not take me in; I was naked, and you did not cover me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit me. Then they also will answer him saying: Lord, when did we see you hungry, thirsty, a stranger, naked, sick, or in prison, and did not serve you?
Then he will answer them and say, Truly I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.
- 2 Corinthians 8:1-4 The apostle Paul expresses to us the wonder of serving the saints. - 2 Corinthians 9:7 Each person gives as he has decided in his heart: not with sadness, nor out of necessity, because God loves a cheerful giver. - Philippians 2:13 God is the one who places willing as doing. - 2 Corinthians 9:5 Talk about generosity and not demand! - 2 Corinthians 8:12 You should offer what you have and not what you don't have. 2 Corinthians 9:6 He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly; and he who sows generously will also reap generously. Romans 15:25-26 and 2 Corinthians 8:1-3 God moves through the Church to help the needs of his people. 1 John 3:17 "But he who has the goods of this world and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God dwell in him?" Faith must be the basis on which the church must stand; to deviate from this conviction is to take dangerous shortcuts and confine the local body from being promoters and accomplices of many who make the gospel a lucrative business.
